Proprietor Rolland Gaudin has produced an
extremely unevolved, saturated black/ruby/purple-colored Gigondas
(a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre). Aged completely in
cuve and foudre, full-bodied, packed and stacked with surprisingly
good acidity for the vintage, this backward, impressively
concentrated vin de garde possesses plenty of sweetness as well as
excellent to outstanding potential. This will be one
Gigondas that requires patience. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2020.
