Roland Gaudin and his daughter Anne-Marie work according to traditional methods in accordance with the principles of "integrated farming":
- They plough with an instrument called a “décavailloneuse” designed to respect the rows of vines.
- The weed-killing is done manually along the rows, to limit the polluting effect of the products.
- Only organic fertiliser is used, and the vine worm is treated by selective products which are not harmful to bees.
- Mildew: use of traditional products copper sulphate and sulphur.

The Gaudin family prune their vines in the traditional way, in cups on a wire.
They remove leaves in certain areas to improve the exposure of the grapes to the sun, in order to hasten maturity.
Finally they harvest most of their production by hand.

Wine Advocate #125 Robert Parker 87-89 points Drink 2002-2020

Proprietor Rolland Gaudin has produced an extremely unevolved, saturated black/ruby/purple-colored Gigondas (a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre). Aged completely in cuve and foudre, full-bodied, packed and stacked with surprisingly good acidity for the vintage, this backward, impressively concentrated vin de garde possesses plenty of sweetness as well as excellent to outstanding potential. This will be one  Gigondas that requires patience. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2020.
