This family domaine produces some of the finest 'Grands vins de
Terroir' in Chaintre (pop. 250) since five generations. Marie-Pierre
and Olivier Larochette took over the family estate in 1992 and
finished their new cellar in 1999.
The manual harvest on the 7 hectares of the domain, traditional
Burgundian winemaking techniques in Oak barrels, the elevage on 'lies'
followed by 'batonnage' and the latest harvest possible brings a rare,
complex, powerful and elegant Macon.
Macon-Morizottes 2003
This is how Chardonnay should taste. The wine is delicate in the best
sense of the word. It has a certain creaminess that comes from the
fruit rather than from oak. It is light, refreshing & delicious. When
you compare this wine to other Chardonnays available in the same price
range, it blows them away.
